September Dawn which will be released on August 24, 2007 is the story about the Mountain Meadows massacre of September 11, 1857, where more then 120 men, women and children was attacked and murdered by a group of Mormon melitamen.
September Dawn is written and directed by Christopher Cain because he felt that religious extremism was particularly relevant today.
Of course this is a highly controversial movie since the movie puts the Mormons in a not so favourable light which they off course don't want anything to do with. And since the massacre happened 150 years ago the details of the attack is rather vague and the evidence is very thin.

On September 11, 1857 in an unspoiled valley of the Utah Territory-and in the name of God-120 men, women and children were savagely murdered.
Who ordered the massacre, and why, has been hidden in a cloak of secrecy and conspiracy.
And the reputation of one of the nation's mightiest religious figures has been preserved and protected.
There was nothing ever secret about it. Brigham Young never claimed to be God upon the earth. The people that were killed were bragging about killing Mormons back east which is why the Mormons were living in the desert in Utah. What would you do if someone came through your back yard bragging about how they had killed your family and made it so you had to leave and move away?

Liked Robert Jones take on it. Think about it, this is what basically happened to the American Indian. Settlers came, wanted it all, didnt care who they killed and bragged about it. History is important, without learning from it we are doomed to repeat it, over and over again
