Sicko synopsis
Michael Moore points out that in America 50 million people don't have any medical insurance and those who have insurances are often victims of fraud or paper bureaucracy. People from both segments that have fallen victims to the system are interviewed and their unbelievable stories are shared. The consequences for the individuals that have been mistreated range from bankruptcy to unnecessary death of loved ones.
Former employees of the insurance companies describe how physicians are encouraged to deny patients the treatment they need to survive in order to maximize the profit for the company, basically denying a treatment is a direct saving for the company.
Moore then looks at the free health care systems from around the world in countries comparable to the U.S. and tries to determine where the American system failed and how the situation became what it is today.
