The Andromeda Strain is originally a futuristic thriller novel written by Michael Crichton, the story is about a team of scientists investigating a deadly disease of extraterrestrial origin which causes rapid and fatal clotting of the blood.
In 1971 the book was turned into movie and in 2004 the Sci Fi Channel announced that they were working on a mini-series based in the same story. And what we are showing here is the trailer for the TV mini-series.
If your no fan of Sci-Fi movies you could probably stop reading and watching by now but if you like me like good Sci-Fi you should definitely watch the trailer as it looks really promising. According to Wikipedia it looks like the series will premier on Max 26, 2008 at 9:00 PM (Eastern) and that it will be a two-night television event.
Synopsis
An entire town is killed by a mysterious virus brought to earth by a returning satellite. A search through the town reveals two survivors: a baby and an old man. Why the virus spared them could provide the key for immunizing the populace. A crack team of scientists isolates themselves with the survivors in an underground laboratory, and now they only have a few days to find a cure before the world is destroyed.
