This is old news but we must have missed this thing completely last summer, but it's quite great so we choose to feature this video anyways.
On July 7th, 2006 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, England the Audi R10 TDI winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans went up against a Harrier GR7 jet fighter. The competition was who could complete a one kilometer race first from a standstill. Even though the R10 is designed for rolling starts the car was quickest of the line and maintained the lead for almost the complete race, being overtaken by the Harrier by a nose on the finish line.
