Daniel Tammet is a British autistic savant gifted with a special ability to solve complex mathematical problems in his head. An autistic savant is an autistic persons with Savant Syndrome, savant syndrome is described as having mental handicap and extraordinary mental abilities not found in most people and involve striking memory and often arithmetic calculations and sometimes art and music.
Daniel Tammet's passion is mathematics and numbers and he experiences numbers as colors and sensations. He claims that all numbers up to 10.000 has its own distinct shape and fell and he can sense if a number is a prime or composite, this way of experiencing numbers is documented as synesthesia.
