On March 29th 2008, Earth Hour 2008 aims to turn every light of in an array of cities around the world in order to raise awareness of what is happening to our planet.
Last year the whole of San Francisco supported the initiative and turned the lights of for one hour. The act of turning of the lights saves a lot of energy but the biggest value lies probably in the raised awareness of climate changes. Hopefully this will cause global companies, governments and other with great power over others to realize that they have to tackle the challenge of climate change when so many citizens are taking a stand.
