At the 2006 Geneva Motor Show Peugeot unveiled the sporty 207 Rcup concept car which is based on the Peugeot 207. At first many believed that the 207 Rcup was the successor for the 206 RC, but it was soon clear that the 207 Rcup was only the S2000 version of the 207.
Being the S2000 version means that it will be replacing the 206 WRC car in the rally tracks once the 307 WRC is retired. Peugeot is hopping to be able to repeat the success of the 206 WRC which one the manufacturers championship in 2000, 2001 and 2002. The 207 Rcup has a 2.0 liter petrol engine which produces 280 hp.
