Julian Morrow from The Chaser's War on Everything, which is an Australian satire show set out to examine how stupid the average Americans really are.
We must say that the result is really sad, they even found people not knowing how many sides a triangle have. We realize that they have cut out the people that answered correct on all questions but finding enough stupid people to create a 9 minute segment is just terrifying.
Even more terrifying is the Americans hunger for war, The Chaser's War on Everything found that there are a lot of people that would support invasion of countries they don't even recognize or know why they are threatening USA.
Is the American really this ignorant about the surrounding world and really this stupid, you tell us.

I find this video to be ridiculous and exploitive. Yes, ignorance abounds, but ignorance is everywhere. What is even more insulting is that Julian Morrow doesn't even live here! His sole purpose is to manipulate those who are less educated and, yes, ignorant. It is this sort of behavior that perpetuates exactly what he is mocking. Misinformation and lack of knowledge begets fear. Unfortunately, people fall victim to this anywhere. In that sense, Julian Morrow is no better than any of those idiots.
ricki on January 23, 2007.
I found this piece quite humorous, slightly offensive, but nonetheless funny because it was clear that these weren't legitimate "journalists," and it was clear that Morrow's aim was to be quite less than objective. However, as I read the comments below, I was shocked at how seriously hateful some of these viewers were toward America. BTW, MILLIONS of Americans protested the Iraq war before the invasion, and continue to protest the occupation and now protest the “escalation.” I'm proud to say that I am one of those protesters. I may not be proud to be an American all the time, but whose country is perfect? G’day mate.
Kim O. on January 23, 2007.
First off, I'm an American. Secondly, it's ironic that those who believe Americans are all this ignorant must also be ignorant themselves to believe this rubbish. Ignorance comes in many shades; this one has a decidedly anti-American tinge. Every culture has its flaws (2005 Sydney race riots; ardent Aussie support for any American war, etc.), but to make those faults representative of an entire culture is irresponsible.

I think i know why in every movie they say "god bless america"
they might actually need it :S
Menaid on January 24, 2007.
Menaid, are you serious? We don't say "God Bless America" in our movies which, by the way, I'm sure you love.

Sin on March 22, 2007.
it's not right to name a whole people stupid because of the failings of a few! No nation is perfect, it has to be made perfect! If you can't change, then please don't mock!
Syd on March 27, 2007.
What I find even more amusing, is that the Americans watching this are taking it seriously....... FFS this is a comedy clip, these guys take the piss out of Aussie culture too. If you can't laugh at yourself you can't laugh at anyone.
Al on June 7, 2007.
BTW - This week they interviewed a large number of people in the U.S who couldn't tell you the year of 9/11 and/or the month and day of the event, nor the numbers involved (one interviewee thought Millions were killed, many didn't realise anything happened outside of New York)...... so some truth is there... there are some damned stupid people around

god americans are funny
mikelteo on July 1, 2007.
This does a great job of showing how ignorant Americans are, but I can't help feeling that it is unfair unless someone does the same experiment with other people, e.g. Aussies.
David Short on August 10, 2007.
Oh, you find people that are less educated than others in every single country of this world. I'd never say that Americans are the most ignorant. German Journalists made a similar round of questions on the streets where a girl was asked what the lungs do for the body, she answered: one leads all the beverages and the other one the food into the body! Unfortunately it makes you look at some like there below you and many think that way of the whole population.
But one thing that is particularly american about these people in the vid, is that there are so many that follow their leader blindly, without questioning. If a war saves their so called freedom, so be it - and that's just wrong.
Lola on August 17, 2007.
Well, it seems that The Simpson's can take the piss out of a lot of country's, using very bad generalizations about other nations... yet none of them have complained, and then the Aussies target the USA and they get all bent out of shape.
Jason on September 3, 2007.
Yes, the Simpsons have parodied other countries. And yes, I agree that, in comedy, there should be a greater leeway for laughing at oneself. Having a sense of humor is important if one is to last long. However, if I ever heard, "stupid fucking aussies," or, "stupid fucking brits," I would cringe and feel a little sorry at the ignorance displayed by such sentiment. Having a sense of humor is one thing (and it is a good thing) but using such comedy sketches as a way to fuel hatred, anger, resentment, ignorance concerning an entire people...that is wrong. Actually, when I was down in Melbourne I watched Chaser and found his show to take on Australia too. But really man, it is a low-brow type of comedy that takes advantage of the ignorant. Some of his skits worked for me, others didn't. That's showbiz.
deepbluedrink on September 13, 2007.
I am an American and I find the The Chasers to be f-ing hilarious!!! They make fun of everyone including their own wives. So get over it!!! I have traveled and seen how dumb we Americans can be....it is no secret. The point is, it is for fun and entertainment. If the tables we turned we would be laughing at them and calling them dumb Auzzies!!! Americans are way too sensitive!!!
Kat on September 17, 2007.
Americans are "way too sensitive" because we choose to understand that what we say and what we do have real consequences to the feelings of others. Also, we get sued.
standardsandpractices on September 24, 2007.
deepblue drink above, is probably one of the smartest americans i have ever meet, and i haven't even meet him before.
first of all fuck america, second of all deepbluedrink is right, you fucking americans are way to sensitive, and you take yourself way to seriously.
by the way all you fucking hippey's out there saying "Ohhh war is bad, i'am going to hug a tree now, the war on terror is probably the best thing america has done for the world since the hamburger (that is just an asumption, that you guys invented it, i mean you eat so many of them you probably did).
that war is doing good things for those people over there, and most of you losr bitching about the war have no idea of what you are talking about, (the only bad thing about the war is the reason behind it (oil) but that's not really the point)
so fuck you hippeys, fuck you america you fat greasy, media histaria with enough nucular weaponary to kill us all.

I loved the CNNN and Julian is a genius! Since he was a laywer, he always had this sharp look and presentable voice that just makes him pull off the PM stunt so well. Julian is no idiot and hasn't manipulated anyone- their government has done that public service already. This is a public aired comedy show and the US was just begging for it to be called out on as they pride themselves on being the most powerful country in the world.
The Americans have misrepresented the Australian public so badly before that this seems quite mild in mockery to the US public.

im American and i fucking hate it here they are all like that fucking shit stains of the universe i cant wait till they are at the bottom of the food chain but im thinking we wont have to wait long for that brothers and sisters of the world cheers to a new world
boom town on November 14, 2007.
perhaps its about time the americans start seeing themselves the way the rest of the world perceives them......
cm on November 17, 2007.
It's seems scripted. Don't they have to sign a release to be on the show or something? Why would anyone want to look this dumb for real? Wouldn't someone have sued if this was for real? I don't find it funny, not because it's offensive but it just ain't that hilarious. They seem like real journalist. They aren't doing anything but holding a mike. If it's funny, it's cuz the American responses are funny, not cuz the chaser guys are particularly funny.
atd7039 on December 21, 2007.
atd7039 - Ali G .. or Sacha Baron Cohen, isn't particularily funny either, but the way he manipulates the responces to make the other party looks like fools makes it entertaining. What's different here is Julian asks basic questions and they still have foolish responces.
I agree not all Americans are ignorant but... honestly when one believes their country is the best without truly knowing the world... even when their country potentially has limitless knowledge if you search for it...
you just can't help but hate them for it. I don't hate Americans, just this sentiment.
Shrew on April 30, 2008.
Im 17 and I live in Australia. I find chasers the to be the only decent Australian made show here... Everything I like is American (Family Guy, Scrubs, How I met your mother, every movie that i watch... i could go on). I love chasers, they are funny. I dont think Americans should be offended by chasers, they are just being stupid and trying to make a laugh. Considering the ammount of peopel who pay out Australia. I hate when i'm watching tv and then in a certain episode of whatever show i happen to be watching they have an australian and they seem stupid and have an annoying accent... The accent is always put on to an extreme. whether its and australian or someone trying to be. I heard that South Australian accents (btw south australia is a state...) are less nasely than the rest though. I dont know why. We arnt that good lol...
Half the time people think i sound american on xbox live.
Wow this has gone on, Im done!
P.S:
Iron man rocks! lol... Saw the movie the other day and i love it...
Nathan on May 15, 2008.
In response to Nathan, I'm Australian too and from the south. The stupid accent (ESPECIALLY the time the Simpsons had a go at us) sounds absolutely horrible. No one, I repeat, no one speaks like that.
But do you hear me complaining? No. It's just all in good comedy. I mean, the chasers... they'll bash everything - there is literally nothing sacred. They make fun of us, our politicians, other countries, security - everything. Like the Simpsons. So don't think that America's the only country being dumped on.
Moonlight on July 19, 2008.
God damn Americans are so stupid and fucking useless!!! Those pieces of shit that have sided with Bush deserve to be sent to Siberia with all the other criminals. These fucking bastards deserve everything they have had happen to them, including September 11th attacks that were performed by the AMERICANS themselves and NOT any Islamic group which stupid Americans now stereotype. Fuck I hate America ... if any of those mother fuckers come to my country and I see them on the roadway, watch out!
