I think most of you car fanatics have already seen the Volvo XC70 Surf Rescue press release and images when they were released last week but here we have a video of the XC70 accompanied by interviews with the people behind the concept car.
I must start by pointing out that I really like this concept car and I think it was one of the best looking concepts car of SEMA 2007.
When Volvo creates a concept car safety is always the number one priority and therefore the car had to have a connection to safety. Since the concept was destined for SEMA they wanted a connection to California and a profession that was associated with safety. The profession that Joel Alexandersson in charge of the conceptual design of the XC70 Surf Rescue fell for was lifeguards since they have a strong connection to safety.

Wow, to say it was one of the best concept cars a SEMA is quite a compliment. I've never been, but I've been looking at the SEMA insider website and there was definitely lots of competition!
